Bomb Jack (MSX1)

BOMBJACK takes you across 5 different screens, collecting bombs and defeating the enemy as you go. You are 'Jack', can you collect all the bombs, dodge the many obstacles in you way to go through to the next screen?

CONTROLS

• To move Jack: Joystick or Cursors
• Jump: Fire button or space bar.
• Joystick/cursor left/right: moving Jack left/right.
• Joystick/cursor down (in the air): makes Jack fall back down to the bottom of the screen faster.
• Fire/space bar: jump from the ground.
• Fire/space bar + joystick upwards: higher jump from the ground.
• Fire/space bar (in the air): stops jumping or floating if Jack is falling (delaying landing).
• M key: music on/off.
• ESC key: abort the game.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

an MSX­1 with 64 kB of RAM memory or an emulator.

ABOUT THIS VERSION

This final version is an expansion of a previous version made for an academic paper on MSX (in this link you can access said paper -only in Spanish-). In this version all the elements that were missing in the previous version have been included.

Note:
This is a version of Bomb Jack for MSX1. Of course, it can run on an MSX2 but if that is the case, it is recommended to play the Kralizec version for a better feeling.

History:
The final version v1.2 fixes the speed on game on Turbo-R MSX machines.

The final version v1.1 fixes a bug that hang the game when starting on Panasonic FS-A1WX machines.
